For Learning at Work Week, we speak to Amanda Cliff, a great asset to the team who has been with us for six years, about her overseas experiences, passions for developing talent and offering support to colleagues to achieve great results at Weetabix.

What’s your role?

I am Learning & Development Manager at weetabix and my role centres around supporting my team in attracting, developing, and retaining great people. It involves working with managers and leaders alike to enable them to get the most out of their team members talents as well as supporting people in helping them develop to their full potential.

My role is also about offering a great development programme and seeing this help us to achieve great business results

How long have you been at Weetabix and what attracted you to joining Weetabix?

I have been at Weetabix for nearly six years now and the brand was my biggest attraction! Being part of a brand that has a brilliant story to tell is a key motivator for me.

Tell us a little about your career/education so far?

I studied to be a Social Worker at University and soon after graduating I began working in a Women’s Refuge that I emotionally wasn’t really prepared for, so I soon left and began life overseas as a Holiday Rep.

Eight years later, I returned to the UK and continued working in the holiday industry but as a trainer for new starters and this is where my passion in all things people and talent related came from.

What do you love doing outside of work?

My son and husband are at the heart of everything I do. We love to travel and any time we can get away and explore we will – whether that be time to go and watch football or a weekend away to the theatre, they are always in the calendar.

Equally, evenings celebrating something or anything with friends is a must too. We’ve recently added a dog to our family and therefore, have developed a new interest in exploring new places when out on our walks.
